P90X it is not, but Old School New Body fits a very specific niche. If you just finished a round of P90x or Insanity this program probably isn’t for you. Or, if you are a gym rat already this may not be a good fit.
However, if you’re looking for a workout plan odds are you are out of shape and looking for some help. This is where OSNB really shines. How many times have you went to the gym for your first workout and completely over worked yourself? I can’t tell you how many times I did the same thing. I was so sore for two weeks I could hardly move and my plan of starting a regular workout routine was over before it started.
When you buy Old School New Body you will download a pdf, several actually. The main program is about 100 pages, but you don’t need to read it all at once. Read the intro and the Lean phase. You will start of with a basic 30 minute workout 3 days a week. Seriously, after reading the first phase of the program I couldn’t find a single reason why I wouldn’t be able to do these exercises 3 days a week.
Advanced fitness buffs may find this beneath them but it is perfect for a beginner or someone who needs to ease themselves back into the gym. It is just enough that you feel good about your workout but you aren’t going to be so sore afterwards you can’t go back to the gym. In fact, the first phase can be done at home if you prefer.
The best part of the program is it’s only $20. It is written by the editor of Iron Man magazine so it’s a legit book. No fly by night scam here. Just solid workout advice from someone that is in the know.
What is the Fx4 Workout
FX4 is just the fancy name they came up with to call their exercise groups. In a nut shell you will perform 4 sets of a particular exercise with limited rest in between sets. It’s a really easy concept to understand but it is highly effective.
Should You Buy the Old School New Body Book?
If you are looking for a starting point, absolutely. Like I said if you are just starting out or you’ve been away for awhile this will give you a good 6-12 months of workouts to start your new healthy lifestyle. I’ve tried many other programs but most were just too advanced for someone who was very out of shape. OSNB is perfect in my opinion and the cost is low enough that it was a very easy decision for me to try it.
